My faculty of prediction is going down!

In the last 3 pageants of Miss Colombia 2009, Miss Earth 2009 and Miss International 2009; my predictions turned worse than previous predictions back in September and October. OK! Let's take a look!

MISS COLOMBIA 2009

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JMdl-D4Jq6w/SwJo6_Ptr0I/AAAAAAAABZ0/1xH9ZPe6LqU/s1600/5.jpg

Begin with Miss Colombia 2009; I got 7 out of 10 (or 70%) and my personal winner - Miss Bolívar, Natalia Navarro Galvis who is actually Señorita Colombia 2009-2010. Even, the remainders in my top 3 (Cundinamarca, Mata) also became the first and second runners-up. Thanks to Natalia because she helped me to keeping my streak of Latin winners for next year Miss Universe: Ximena Navarrete (Mexico), Marelisa Gibson (Venezuela) and Mariana Vicente (Puerto Rico). I love my Latin girls ¡Arriba!

MISS EARTH 2009

http://vnexpress.net/Files/Subject/3B/A1/5F/45/23-earth-2.jpg

From November 17 to 23, 2009; I was in Vung Tau to attend Mrs. World 2009. Miss Earth is always unpredictable. I only got 11 out of 16 (or 68.75%) but 3 contenders in my top 4 (Philippines, Venezuela and Spain) were all became Miss Air, Miss Water and Miss Fire. BTW, congratulations to Brazil for its second Miss Earth crown!

MISS INTERNATIONAL 2009

http://image1.mop.com/images/project9/2009-11-29/12594246123309318.JPG

In my latest prediction for Miss International 2009, didn't choose a winner because it's very hard to choose only one winner between these 5 contestants: Brazil, India, Mexico, Philippines and Venezuela. And the final result, Anagabriela Espinoza became the second Miss International from Mexico (the first one was Priscila Perales in 2007). I got 10 out of 15 (or 66.66%), it's recently my worst prediction. I think this year result of Miss International is a bit disgusting: no Black/African in top 15 while some favorites are from Colombia, Martinique; Eun Mi Seo (Korea) and Chloe Beth Morgan (United Kingdom) are not favorites but placed as runners-up. It reminds me of the 2004 and 2006 editions when this pageant held in the mainland China when runners-up were unpredicted surprises with Amy Lynne Holbrook (USA, 1st runner-up 2004); Olga Kypriotou (Greece, 2nd runner-up 2004); Mayté Sanchez González (Panama, 1st runner-up 2006) and Jang Yoon-seo (Korea, 2nd runner-up 2006). Will it happen again in Shanghai next year? ¡Viva México!

From Mrs. World 2009

Hi guys! I spent a week in Vung Tau, Vietnam for Mrs World 2009 and now, I'm home. First of all, I wanna say thanks to Mr. Alex Liu, from Singapore because he gave me a wonderful chance to attend this event. The organization of Mrs World is very friendly, easy with a warm welcome. OK! I am really exhausted so I will upload some photos very soon! There are many things to tell you but I will only tell which I think it's...acceptable!

* In a week in the Imperial Hotel, I met all the contestants but there are some contestants that I think they are really friendly, kind and sweet: Australia, Bali, Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, England, Georgia, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Philippines, Spain and Venezuela. But I will never forget these contestants:

- Although Mrs. Indonesia, Dian Krishna Mukti is 31 but from her looking and her personality, you will think she is just...13. Always smiling, funny all the time and love to do jokes anytime, anywhere. With her, you will never boring. I really love her joyful and bubbly personality. Her roommate is Mrs. Bali lived next to my room and they are sweet!

- Mrs. Malta, Samantha Mifsud looks very young than her true age of 24 and like many teenager girls, she is very cute. Luckily, she also lived next to my room. And I like to chat with my neighbor every night when we meet each other.

- Mrs. Kazakhstan, Dinara Satzhanova maybe she don't have enough time to give gifts for many strangers but her family is very generous and kind with anyone. They gave many special national souvenirs made in Kazakhstan for many people. And as I can see many gifts are really precious, expensive and very beautiful. But I really love the Kazakh chocolate candy they gave me.

- Last year at Miss Universe pageant in Nha Trang, Miss Ecuador - Dominica Saporiti helped me to send gifts to over 20 contestants. And this time, Mrs. Ecuador - Olga Salazar is also a kind voluntary helper. It's such a nice personality of the Ecuadorians, very kind! Muchas gracias!

- Mrs. Georgia, Margo Luchko and Mrs. England, Hannah McCuaig are ones of the friendliest blondes, unlike some blondes in my favorite list. They are both very sweet and lovely.

- Mrs. Bali, Ni Wayan Eka Ciptasiri is of the Balinese royal family descent. She is very grateful, humble, kind and her 3 children are beautiful like little angels and they look like Eurasian babies (Honestly, I don't like children much but her kids didn't bother me. Sorry!)

* I was upset with some of my favorites because of their unfriendly personality, cool attitude, very quiet or not smiling. And most of them are blondes and you could find them in the top 12 semifinalist. And all contestants of South Asian descents (India, Pakistan and Scotland) are not friendly too, even didn't smile or say thank when they receive a gift. But maybe, they were tired (I hope so!).

* Mrs. Uganda - Halima Namakula is the oldest contestant, she is 52. While Mrs. Argentina - Daiana Gabriela is the youngest, she is just 19. There was also another 19 year-old contestant but I forgot her already.

* When I met Mrs Mexico - Gabriela Pokonosky for the first time, I didn't like her because she always looks very stressful and somewhat cruel. But in fact, she is graceful and many people thought she looks like Paula Abdul. Her roommate is Mrs. Venezuela and we lived in the same floor - 5th floor.

* Despite of political problems, the relationship of Mrs. Iran and Mrs. Israel is quite good. I can see they talked to each other very often, even they always stand side by side on the stage and eat in the same table. Very nice ladies! But the roommate of Mrs. Iran is Mrs. Colombia.

* The earliest favorite was Mrs. Brazil, Anuska Prado; she was the 2nd runner-up in Miss World 1996. But Mrs. Russia, Victoria Radochinskaya became heaviest favorite of many people and her victory was predictable.

* There were many contestants could speak Russian, might be up to 20 contestants (even from some countries not of Soviet Union). Or some contestants are of Eastern European descents: Canada, Ecuador (Olga Salazar), Peru (Olga Zumaran).

* The final result was really fixed by the organization, especially top 3 because: Vietnam (2nd runner-up) is the host country of the 2009 edition; USA (1st runner-up) is where Mrs. World was born and the headquarter country of this organization; Russia (winner) held 3 Mrs. World contests in a row (2006 in St. Petersburg, 2007 in Sochi and 2008 in Kaliningrad), I can see many contestants could speak Russian fluently and there is a Russian town in Vung Tau, the only one in Vietnam.

* I don't know why a bad contestant like Mrs. Vietnam could make the top 3: so-so face, short, untoned body, she can not speak and can not understand English and that's why she was not going well with the other candidates but at least, she is friendly. While Mrs. Ba Ria Vung Tau could speak English but she is not very friendly and always looks very gloomy and condescending. Look at other Asian contestants from the Philippines, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Bali...They are all much more better than 2 host contestants at least...a million times. And as I read in a Vietnamese daily newspaper (Thanh Niên, November 23, 2009), many Vietnamese people want their representative become the winner. SUCK!
