Due to the shift of dates of the Miss World pageant, the Miss Barbados World organization decided to forego the staging of a 2012 show. After an intense assessment of the 2011 finalists, the organization, partners and sponsors collectively decided that 20 year-old Marielle Wilkie is the new Miss Barbados World 2012. She will represent Barbados in Miss World 2012 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia on August 18.
